Oculus Transport Ltd. is seeking a Fluid Dispatcher to join our growing Grande Prairie Branch.

As a dispatcher you bridge the gap between the clients and the field, so communication is key. More often than not you are the face (voice) of the company, so it is essential you can confidently communicate with our clients and staff, in an effective and professional manner. Attention to detail is a critical part of your role, as you work to meet the client’s needs while achieving organizational goals. You can think strategically in a fast paced environment, and will not crumble under the pressure and demands a fast paced, high volume office. Par for the course in the oilfield industry, we do not operate on the 9-5 schedule, more like 24/7 365 days a year. We pride ourselves on being reliable, and our ability to meet our client’s needs under any circumstance, and as a result on-call shifts are part of the job. Past experience in a dispatching role is an asset, however a positive attitude, and team focused approach is mandatory. Roles and Responsibilities

  • As a key point of communication between Oculus customers and staff you are required to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Work cooperatively with your peers especially on cross shift to keep them informed and educated about the happenings of the day.
  • Maintain a detailed record of the fleet, drivers and their locations at all times.
  • Review all tickets for accuracy and discrepancies to ensure hours, rates and all relevant information is correct before it is sent to billing. This includes but is not limited verifying BOL’s and organizing wait time, shop time, non billable hours accordingly.
  • Effectively monitor driver hours for safety and compliance, assigning reset’s when required.
  • Effectively communicate with the Branch Manager about driver performance and inform them of any potential issues IE: refusal to work, late, unavailable etc.
  • Keep an accurate record of all ongoing jobs and relevant details acting a resource for both Oculus employees and customers.
  • Complete the dispatch spreadsheet in its entirety on a daily basis to submit to Operations.
  • Dispatcher’s are expected to work cooperatively with all member of the Operations team and complete any additional tasks assigned to them by the Branch Manager.
  • Schedule: 10 days on, 4 days off
